Both the Schleicher ASK-21 and the Schweizer 2-33 are capable, safe gliders, and are well-maintained for your flying safety and pleasure at Harris Hill. Safety requirements limits passenger's weight to 225 lbs in the SGS 2-32 sailplane and 245 lbs in the ASK-21 sailplane. |

The Schleicher ASK-21 is a German-built fiberglass ship designed in the mid 1970's and used throughout the world as a rugged, docile ship for rides and training. It is fast, quiet and has ergonomically comfortable (semi-reclining) seating. It is capable of aerobatics, but your pilot won't be demonstrating that during your ride! |

The Schweizer SGS 2-33 is a steel, aluminum and fabric ship designed in the late 1960's primarily as a training glider. Our ships are still very close to their roots, as they were manufactured right here in Elmira by the Schweizer brothers. The 2-33 is a docile ship, has excellent visibility, but has more wind noise than the ASK-21. You sit quite upright, as in a chair, when riding the 2-33. It is the most widely used training glider in the U.S. |

Harris Hill Soaring may be able to provide your group with a memorable soaring experience at a reduced group rate. Clubs and corporate recognition events have successfully included a soaring outing at Harris Hill Soaring and the National Soaring Museum, using the adjacent Chemung County Park (Harris Hill Park) for picnics and recreation.
If you are interested in exploring a group activity at Harris Hill Soaring, please contact our VP of Marketing.
Information regarding the use of the Harris Hill Recreational Park may be obtained from Chemung County Parks Department, Ph: 607-737-2907.

Harris Hill Soaring Corporation often hosts regional and national soaring competitions. In the spirit of reciprocity HHSC may allow properly rated and FAA-current glider pilots to fly HHSC club equipment, following the required familiarization and safety check-out procedures. These services are a privilege and may be awarded to individuals on a case-by-case basis. Please see the table above for rates and fees for services.
If you need information about temporary flying privileges at Harris Hill Soaring, please contact either our Secretary or the VP of Operations.

We fly year 'round, weather permitting. The runway is hard surfaced and is often kept plowed in the winter time. Therefore, we fly most weekends when the weather permits. Other flying (weekday afternoons in Fall and Spring) is not firmly scheduled, but occurs frequently. Please give us a call, we might be flying.
