The Snowbird Contest is held annually on Thanksgiving weekend at Harris Hill, and is both a short-hop time trial and a precision landing competition. Pilots from Harris Hill and other clubs compete in various age groups for the best composite score. The contest is followed with an awards dinnner at the nearby National Soaring Museum. The contest was commissioned in 1939 by Paul A. Schweizer and Maury Waters. |
